July 23, 2007 - Charly starts pre-school three days a week. July 19, 2007 - Swim lessons. Charly finished up three weeks of swim lessons. She can now swim under water, half way across the pool. She can also jump in from the side if someone is there to help. July 14, 2007 - Charly asks for a pool party for her 4th birthday, and she gets a big pool party! June 30, 2007 - Charly performs in her second dance recital. She does a great job and of course looks beautiful! February 10, 2007 - Charly can sing her ABC song most of the time all the way through. She is getting much better at coloring in the lines. Charlotte is very helpful with Tommy. She will often get him what he can't reach, or she'll ask him what his problem is?! January 20, 2007 - Charlotte measures 41 inches tall at California Adventure and gets to ride on Soarin over Californa for the first time. She liked it alot, especially the smell of the oranges! December 23, 2006 - First ski lesson at Bear Mountian. Charly did very well and was one of the younger kids in her class. December 18, 2006 - Winter dance recital. Charly did a great job with her tap routine. Charly can count to ten now and is starting to learn her alphabet. November 14, 2006 - Charly was writing the number two and one on the bottom of her picture. She is learning fast at preschool. November 1, 2006 - Charlotte's first day of preschool at Archibald Christian Church PreSchool. Charly did very well and was not shy at all! September 21, 2006 - After only having her 2 wheel bike with training wheels for less than two months, she is riding up and down the street, on and off the sidewalk and even occasionally off the curb! Go Charly Go! July 18, 2006 - Pre-school! Charly started an eight week pre-school class through the City of Corona. July 15, 2006 - We took Charly and the family to Legoland for her third birthday. We just followed her around the park and did everything she wanted. She got a birthday lunch and cake and lots of time on the rides. Both girls loved it. July 12, 2006 - Charly was promoted from her creative movement class to pre-ballet for 3-4 year olds. She is taking this class once a week. June 24, 2006 - Charlotte performed in her first dance recital on the big stage tonight. They did a short ballet number. Charly was great and looked very cute! May 14, 2006 - We went swimming today, and Charlotte is quite the fish. She would get in the pool on one side and swim across the pool, get out and start all over again. She must have done it ten times. Now that it is warmer all Charlotte wants to do is play outside. Ride her bike, scooter or swing and play on the slide! April 18, 2006 - Wow, the little girl is growing up. Charlotte has lots to say and bursts words and sentences everday. She also has been riding on the push scooter around the cul-de-sac. February 20, 2006 - Charly's numbers and letters are really coming around now. Her speech is improving everyday and she is learning new words and is making more sentences. January 17, 2006 - Charlotte took her first dance class today. She is in a creative movements class for two to three year olds at the same dance academy that Maddy is at. She did very well and enjoyed the thirty minutes of dancing. Charly's teacher is Ms. Rene, who was also Maddy's first teacher at this dance academy. January 11, 2006 - Vocabulary is growing! Charlotte is using more words daily it seems. Plus her pronunciation of them is improving. She can count to five now, thanks to Dora, no longer is everything two, except for the clock. It is always two o'clock still. December 28, 2005 - Charly has become quite the dancer the last few weeks. The combination of watching Dora on television and watching Maddy at dance class, and some natural ability, has made Charly the little dancer anytime there is music in the room! December 23, 2005 - The Matterhorn! Charly is now 38 inches tall, and rode the Matterhorn for the first time today! She loved it, except for dark part at the beginning. Charlotte also weighs in now at 35 pounds. November 29, 2005 - Charlotte is beginning to talk in complete short sentences. Her vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. October 26, 2005 - Charlotte received a flu shot at the doctor and also weighed in at 33.5 pounds. September 14, 2005 - Charlotte has begun wearing her older sister's clothes in the 3 and 4T range. She is getting better at peddling her tricycle, although she still prefers the footpower on her other wheeled toys! She loves to follow her sister around and do everything Maddy does. We even made her letter flashcards last night because big sissy was practicing her first grade words on flashcard. July 30, 2005 - Charlotte used her little potty to go poop, the big number 2. July 16, 2005 - Charlotte's second birthday party is combined with our new pool party. Fifty plus relatives and neighbors show up for the fun. Charly loves her cake and has a good time opening her presents. She actually stays up until 8:30 PM swimming! Grandma has provided pictures for everyone here. July 15, 2005 - Two year doctor appointment. One shot that resulted in just a little crying. Charly is 34.5 inches tall and 30.5 pounds. That puts her at 75 percent for height and 90 percent for weight. Doctor says she is a healthly two year old! July 14, 2005 - Charlotte uses her little potty for the first time to actually go to the bathroom. July 11, 2005 - Charly is starting to shed some of her baby fat, her two year doctor appointment is coming up, so we'll see she is growing taller! More words all the time, too many to count now. Some you can make out like her new favorite, more pool! Other we can just usually tell by context. She likes to walk around without her shirt on in the afternoons when it is hot... April 14, 2005 - New words come out every week. Some recent ones are juice and milk. She now likes to climb into her car seats by herself, proving she is growing up. March 12, 2005 - Charlotte moved into a twin bed this weekend, as the crib must be put aside for the upcoming baby. Charlotte seemed to like having a bed like her sister. She got new Care Bear sheets and all her old crib blankets to make her feel at home. We put up a railing around the side to help keep her from rolling off in her sleep. March 9, 2005 - Words are starting to come out more often the last few days. Instead of saying a word once and not repeating again for some time, Charlotte is now using words more often to communicate. Some current favorites are car, bowl, more, bye, baby and come on. She is always full of energy, usually prefering to play physically then sit and look at a book or watch television. She likes to hear a story before bed though. She recently stopped using her pacifier, as it had become lost. One last note, Charlotte weighed in at a healthy 29 pounds recently. February 1, 2005 - Charlotte has graduated to sitting at the table in a booster seat for meals. She is babbling alot more now. Some more of her favorite words we can make out are, mama, dada - which is used for both dad and sister Maddy, hello, hi, more and baby. December 31, 2004 - Charlotte sees and touches her first snow in Wrightwood. She didn't think walking in the snow was that great, but she sure did like eating the snow. Her favorite words now are mama and dada sort of used interchangably, also more and hi. Other words come and go as she sees fit. Loves to waive goodbye and hello! November 1, 2004 - Charlotte likes to dance to our new clock that plays a quick tune every hour. She dances in a circle while looking down. Then she usually has to sit down from being too dizzy! October 12, 2004 - Our little baby is growing up very fast! Charlotte likes wrestling and playing with her big sister. She loves to eat, though she is getting a little picky as she grows up. Charlotte can wave hello and good-bye and likes to blow kisses at bed time. We think she has all her teeth except for her molars. Charlotte is using the theory of different grunts to explain what she wants. Actual words we understand do not come out very often, but she gets her point across. She understands a lot of what we say, so her comprehension is very good. She is short tempered and impatient like her father, but still likes to give hugs when she is happy. October 3, 2004 - Charlotte spends four nights away from home and both grandmas say she was really good. We'll see if the truth comes out later. August 28, 2004 - Charlotte is now walking more than she is crawling. Crawling is almost a thing of the past at this point. She babbles alot, not many words, but she lets you know what she wants! July 20, 2004 - One year check-up. She is 30.75 inches tall (95 percent) and 22 pounds, 14 ounces (75 percent). July 2, 2004 - Tooth number 9 appears. Don't when 7 and 8 came in, they just sneaked sometime! June 26, 2004 - Charlotte took her first two steps for Mommy and Daddy. June 11, 2004 - Charlotte is cruising around furniture and even tries to climb up on the couch and chairs. She can stand by herself from a kneeling position without holding on to anything. May 31, 2004 - Stood up by herself with Dad and Sis looking on in awe in Maddy's room. April 30, 2004 - One more tooth on the top, that makes seven total. April 24, 2004 - Pulling herself up to a standing position on coffee table. She likes to crawl with one knee on the ground and one foot on the ground. April 22, 2004 - Doctor's appointment with her big sister. Charlotte is 29.5 inches long and 20.5 pounds, both in the 90 percent. Thankfully her head measures 44cm, exactly 50 percent. April 16, 2004 - Crawling is coming right along, if you don't watch out, she'll be in the next room before you know it. April 11, 2004 - Charlotte has 6 teeth, two on top and four on the bottom. April 9, 2004 - Charlotte started crawling! Just a few knee steps, but she was very exciting, too! March 21, 2004 - Charlotte can sit herself up from her stomach and is now getting around by scooting on her but and this very odd knee-walk-crawl-pull motion. She can also pull herself up to one knee and one foot on the coffee table. No crawling yet, but she is still trying. Very good at going backwards! March 10, 2004 - A single top tooth, number 4, popped in while we were vacationing in Hawaii! February 20, 2004 - Charlotte got up on all fours and was probably as surprised as dad was! Promptly returned to the safety of the floor. Won't be long now before we're crawling! February 18, 2004 - Third tooth came in on the bottom. January 25, 2004 - Charlotte's first trip to the snow, in Big Bear. We spent the weekend up there. Charlotte didn't quite know what to make of the cold weather, or the snow that splashed her face on a short sled ride with Dad. Though she smiled quite big after the ride! Pictures can be found at - webshots.com. She is also starting to push herself backyards when on her stomach, she is trying to get up on her knees and hands at the same time. It won't be long now! January21, 2004 - Six month check up for Charlotte. She was 27.5 inches long and 18 pounds. Both measurements are about at 90 percent for her age. Her head was 42.5 centimeters, which is at the 50 percent range for her age. She got four shots, and she did not like any of them! Screamed quite loudly! January 5, 2004 - Charlotte can now sit up by herself. She can roll around the floor, quite far! She puts everything in her mouth and is beginning to make several different sounds beyond her 45 versions of screams. She recognizes her name and will turn around when you call it. She loves playing with her sister and Maddy is very good with her. December 15 - Charlotte's dinner today was mashed green beens, chewing on some bread and four ounces of formula, mm, mm good! November 30, 2003 - Charlotte was dedicated at our church, New Day Christian Church in Norco. Other notes, she wants to move now, she can sit up from leaning back on a pillow, she can rotate herself on her belly when laying on the ground. November 27, 2003 - Charlotte went on her first camping trip over the Thanksgiving weekend. We went to Lake Skinner by Temecula. Also her second tooth popped through! November 19, 2003 - Four month check up! Height is 26.5 inches(90 percent) and weight is 16 pounds(99 percent)! November 15, 2003 - Charlotte's first tooth pops through on the bottom! November 7, 2003 - New pictures from October posted to webshots.com. November 2, 2003 - Rolling from her back to her stomach and to her back again. Charlotte managed to roll completely off her activity mat and on to the carpet! October 31, 2003 - Charlotte is dressed up as a little Snow White and travels around with her big sister a little bit for some trick or treating. October 19, 2003 - Charlotte was laying on her tummy and she managed to push herself a few inches towards a toy with her legs, such a wiggle worm! October 10, 2003 - Already her second trip to Disneyland, Charlotte was quite good all day and enjoyed the people watching. October 3, 2003 - Charlotte is making also sorts of sounds and will engage in "conversation" for several minutes! She is also doing her best to grab things and enjoys sitting up, with a little bit of help. October 7, 2003 - New pictures posted to webshots.com. September 30, 2003 - Charlotte rolled from her stomach to her back. She also can prop herself up on her arms while on her stomach for quite a long time! September 17, 2003 - Two month checkup. Charlotte is 12 pounds, 2 ounces (80 percent) and is 23.75 inches tall (90 percent). The nurse said the length last time might have been a little off. They also measured her head and for what it is worth, she does not have dad's big head, she measured in the 45 percent range. Little Charlotte also received four shots. September 14, 2003 - Charlotte has settled into sleeping 5 to 6 hours most nights. She will interact with you for serveral minutes at a time. She is starting to bat at overhead objects by and hit them by chance which seems to amuse her. August 22, 2003 - Charlotte is now smiling and starting to make different noises, besides crying. She often is sleeping in 4 to 5 hour at a time at night. She can hold her head quite well, and she remains the constant wiggle worm. August 15, 2003 - One month doctor appointment. Charlotte is 23.25 inches, 90 percentile for her age, and is 10 pounds 4 ounces, 75 percentile for her age. July 30, 2003 - Charlotte likes sleeping on her side, and today she rolled from her back to her side. She is quite the wiggle worm. July 22, 2003 - Charlotte had her first checkup today at the doctor's. She is now 20.5 inches and 8 pounds, 10 ounces. A healthy baby girl. July 20, 2003 - Some pictures we posted to webshots.com. July 17, 2003 - We arrived home to unite our family of four. July 15, 2003 - Charlotte Avery Taylor was born at 8:46 AM at South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach. She was 19.5 inches and 8.2 pounds. Baby and Mommy are well! Pictures to follow soon. June 17, 2003...our new arrival is due in under a month, July 11. The doctor says he probably won't let Brandy go past her due date. Brandy is doing fine and will finally stop working on the 21st. She has really had no problems this time around, even an easier pregnancy than with Maddy. Speaking of Maddy she is very excited about her new sibling. She was switching back and forth between having a brother and a sister, but now she says sister more often. She is very excited to see the new baby and to help Mommy with the baby. The nursery is mostly done. It is blue and yellow with the cow jumped over the moon theme. Brandy did a good job on the detail painting, Dad got to do all the wall painting. We are still working on repainting the crib white and we have already repainted Maddy's baby dresser to match the room. There should be pictures soon, but the webmaster(dad) has been a little busy! |
